Generally, during business hours I am booked with back-to-back clients. While I am working I like to keep a quiet and calm environment that focuses on the clients service. In order to do that I keep my phone on 'do not disturb'. I look at messages and return texts/emails/calls in-between appointments, as soon as I am able. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

No. Unfortunately, I am not a registered massage therapist. My massages are not covered by insurance benefits. I no longer provide any Body Massage services.

Yes. I do work here alone, so the services will be done back-to-back. I have comfortable seating, cozy blankets and a relaxing environment for you to rest and/or visit with each other while I work.

Yes, all service and package prices include HST.

I take cash or e-transfer for payment. E-transfer melissa@thespaonmelrose.ca. I have auto-deposit.

Yes, I have created a quiet, relaxing space inside my home for you to enjoy. There is a clean bathroom, comfortable treatment lounge and chairs, cozy blankets, soft lighting, calming music and fresh, filtered water here for your visit. I LOVE my workspace and I hope you will too! 

Unfortunately, my spa is located in the basement of my house. Occasionally I can accommodate some services with home visits.

The dollar value of gift certificates never expires. All service and package prices become a dollar value after one year. Service & package price, time & treatment protocol is subject to change without notice.

Yes, please look above for the cancellation policy. Gift Certificates will become void for failure to cancel an appointment.

If you arrive late to your appointment, most likely your service time will be reduced. Most days are booked with clients back-to-back and it is unfair to other clients for me to be running behind. On occasion, if it is a slower day, I might be able to accommodate. As I cannot guarantee this please arrive on time for your appointment.

You do not need to bring anything with you. I recommend wearing comfortable clothing to your appointment. I also recommend hydrating before most services. I have fresh, filtered water here for you to enjoy. I have cozy blankets, towels, robes and slippers for your use.

I am happy to provide a 'spa day' experience for you and your child. If you think your child would enjoy time together at the spa, we can put a package together based on their preference. Please contact me for further discussion.

No problem! I never wear perfume and I am happy to accommodate a scent-free environment with scent-free products. Please let me know in advance so we can find a time that doesn't conflict with other essential oil appointments. 

If you have sensitive skin I am happy to provide my facial services using your skincare products. Please inform me in advance and let me know if you have any questions!

For Facials I use Naturmed Skincare

For Face Sculpting Massage I use jojoba oil. You have the option of unscented or with light rose geranium essential oil.

For Scalp Massage I use avocado oil. I then add a high quality blend of eucalyptus and peppermint essential oil. If you prefer a scent-free service I am happy to accommodate!

For Foot & Hand Massage I use Gehwol Skincare. The Med Salve Footcream is a caring ointment for the treatment of heavily callused, brittle, dry and rough skin. Based on a well-tried mixture of special soaps and selected skin-friendly oils. It contains an effective combination of natural essential oils, the skin-caring vitamin panthenol and the anti-inflammatory chamomile component bisabolene. With regular use skin will regain its natural elasticity, and unpleasant side effects will be prevented. The Hand Cream contains aloe vera, urea and jojoba oil. Quickly absorbed & non-sticky. For daily care of the hands, especially when they come into frequent contact with water and cleansers, as well as under protective gloves. Antimicrobial active substances protect the skin from infections. Anti-inflammatory bisabolol and panthenol to promote healing and provide extra protection. Dermatologically tested. Also suitable for diabetics.

Try to eat something light before your Spa Package. I don't want the feeling of hunger pangs to interrupt your relaxing bliss! If you did forget to grab something before your appointment, let me know and I can give you a granola bar.

Try to hydrate before, during and after your Spa Service or Spa Package. Water helps to flush out the toxins released from spa treatments.

Need to use the restroom during your service? Let me know at any time! Many of my treatments increase the need to pee and it is impossible to relax when you have a full bladder!

Want a quiet treatment with no talking? I take no offence whatsoever to this request. Do not hesitate to let me know!

Don't like the music I am playing? Let me know and we can find something else!

Are you sensitive to hot or cold temperatures? I can warm up or cool down my treatment room really fast, just let me know your needs!

I usually recommend wearing comfortable clothing to your appointment. I also do not recommend worrying about your hair and makeup before any face appointment. Unfortunately, I will have you leaving with 'spa hair' (I like to call that a complimentary service, haha!)

Please arrive at your appointment time. I usually book myself with back-to-back clients. If you arrive too early you could interrupt the appointment before you and if you arrive late I will most likely have to shorten your treatment time to stay on schedule.

Please park in my driveway, come to the front door and ring the doorbell.
